The Language League competition will be held on the NSU campus. And everything you need to know about the time and date is given on the website. Please go through the website for detailed information.

You can register from Language League’s official website.

How do I prepare for the competition?
You can follow the rules and regulations posted on our website, and also practice the past papers.

Will the program be broadcasted on television?
No, not the entire program.

Are we supposed to bring any form of identity when we come for the competition if so then what?
You must bring your admit card and a copy of your registration form.

Are the campus ambassadors also allowed to be participants in the Language League?
No, the campus ambassadors are not allowed to be participants in the Language League because it will intervene with their other duties.

If I am from a different department rather than English can I still participate in the competition?
Your department or background doesn’t matter as long as you are eligible in age and your education level.

Will there be any assistance from special needs students?
Yes, depending on the students’ needs they will be assisted such as interpreting services and speech-language and audiology services.

Will the participants have to dress formally or semi-formally?
At the very least the participants should wear semi-formally but it is encouraged for participants to wear formal clothing.

Are the students advised to have a certain level of proficiency in English?
It is advised for students to at least speak passable English (as a person whose First language isn't English) however, the more fluent the participant is the better it is for them.

Do I need to be vaccinated to participate in the competition?
Not mandatory but don’t forget to wear a mask and maintain safety rules.

Where is the venue for the competition?
The semi-final and final venue will be the North South University campus but the venue for the divisional round will be according to the particular district and will be announced later.

How many rounds there will be for every segment?
Three, Divisional selection Round, Semi-Final, and Final.

What are the things that I must bring during the competition?
Necessary stationaries and necessary elements that are related to your segment.

Should I bring any external materials if so then what?
You do not need to bring any other material except the basic tools in your pencil box. However, if you are needed to bring any other materials based on your competition segment than you will be informed on the website. So please keep a check on the website.

Will the sections such as secondary, higher secondary, and tertiary participants be competitive together at the same time?
No. There will be an individual exam for each section.

Will the competition be held in Bangladesh standard time for the International participant?

Can the International students pre-record their segments if it clashes with their classes?
If the International students do suffer from their classes and the Language League clashing they can pre-record their segments and mail them to the judges.

Who will be the adjudicators?
Teachers from a reputed institute.

How will the competition be judged?
Our judges will make a discussion according to their criteria.

When and where will the result be announced and price giving ceremony?
At North South University usually on the next day of the final.

What is the basic rules and regulation for every segment?
You have been at the exam venue at least half an hour ago. Using an electronic device during the exam is forbidden.

Will there be any Volunteers at the exam venue?
Yes, There will be Volunteers at every venue to help the participant.

What will be the reward for the winners?

How many people can we bring when we come to participate in the competition or award ceremony?
It is advised to bring only one of your guardians during the competition and while you take part in the competition the guardian is advised to wait at the place shown to them.

Can I bring friends?
It is better if you don’t. We understand your emotion however bringing too many people will overcrowd the award ceremony hence causing trouble in the process of the ceremony.

Are we allowed to bring food from outside during the competition? /Will we be provided food inside?
You don’t want to need to bring food; you will be provided food during the competition.

Will our guardians be provided food too?
No, your guardians have to manage their food. As the NSU canteen will be open that day, it won’t be hard for them to do so.

Will there be any amenities provided for the food if anyone is diabetic or lactose intolerant?
Yes, students must first inform the authority about their allergy and the severity and they will be accommodated accordingly.

What if I arrive late for the competition due to some reason?
You need to be present at the appropriate time for the competition. However if due to unavoidable circumstances you get late we will try to accommodate as much as possible. But it would be difficult and put you in a vulnerable position. So you must take precautions so you reach in time for the competition.

Is there any advantage to participating offline rather than online?
There is no necessary advantage or disadvantage in participating online or offline. The online part of the competition is for people outside the country so they can participate in the event too.

How differently will the online participant participate in the competition and how different will they be marked?
The online participants might be given just a little bit more time than the offline participants so they can prepare. Aside from them, there is no other difference. Both online and offline participants will be marked rigidly and fairly according to their performance.

Can I get out of the NSU premises once I get in?
Once the competition starts you must be present there. So it is advised to cooperate until the competition ends.

Whom should I ask if I have any problem?
If you have any problem ask the closest campus ambassador or volunteer in front of you. We will try our best to sort out your problem.

How many hours the competitions will take?
The competition timetable will be announced on the website, so please keep a check on our website for it.

Can I leave after I am done with my competition?
You can, the decision is up to you. As the award ceremony won’t be held on the day of the competitions.

Can I roam around the campus after I am done with my competition?
Yes, you are allowed to roam around the campus after the competition and we hope you will be on your best behavior while doing so.

Is it mandatory for the campus ambassador to be in NSU on the final day?
Yes, absolutely mandatory.

How can I get my certificate if I cannot receive it on the very day?
You must contact organizers formally via email provided on the language league website.

Will there be any place for the guardians to wait?

What if I forget to bring my registration card?
You can keep a pdf or picture on your phone and if necessary you can print it out from printing shops.

Are there any other rewards without certificates?
Winners will get medals too.

Can we use a smartwatch during the competition? (Receiving calls, text, using the internet and other facilities type)

Can we bring our car/bike (vehicles) and is there any scope to park our vehicles?
Yes, you can and park in the NSU Parking.

Do we have to accrue our bags/parts/phones and other stuff during the event?

Is it allowed to take pictures after entering NSU?

Will there be refreshments?
Organizers of the international language league will provide the respected guardians and participants with food tokens.

What will happen if a participant fails to reach the venue?
It is advised to take necessary precautions to arrive at the venue on time. If the participant is unable to reach due to unavoidable circumstances, he/she is advised to formally inform organizers about it beforehand.

Will there be arrangements for prayer?
There is a separate prayer room in the boys' lounge and the girls' lounge. Participants and guardians may pray there if they want.

Will there be transportation to reach the venue?
The participants will have to arrange their transportation.

Who is eligible to participate?
Students from the primary level (Grade 1) through the tertiary level (university) can participate. However, the segments may vary for different age groups and educational levels.

How many segments can one participant attend?
As many as they are willing to, as long as the schedules are not clashing and the participants can make it to the venue in due time.

Are there any facilities for medical emergencies?
Yes, there will be a medical team present on the NSU campus.

How many segments will there be?
The basic information for the segments is provided on the front page of the Language league website with some important rules, please kindly check that out.

When and where will the results be announced?
The results will be announced on the day of the specific round at the venue of the competition.

Is it necessary to speak in English?
Apart from the segments which require you to speak in English, you may communicate with volunteers and invigilators in the language you're comfortable with.

The participants will be led to their respective rooms after they enter the venue. We hope you will cooperate with the campus ambassador and volunteers.

Not necessary but if you want you can bring it.

Yes, you can go to the “found and lost” room in the registered building to search for your valuable thing. You will find it.

What are the minimum requirements for registering in the language league?
Age and educational qualification will be the main requirements for registering for the competition.

DEML members will be the guards in the competition.

Do the people who will join from aboard, also need to be on campus to attend the competition?
No. They can participate online.

Who is the presenter or organizer of this league?
Members of the Student Body of DEML would be presenting International Language League in the presence of our honorable outreach coordinator, Mehedi Hasan as well as other authorities of the concerned departments.
