3rd International Language League

The Department of English and Modern Languages (DEML) of North South University (NSU) is going to organize the country's first International Language Olympiad in February and March 2022, entitled "Bakeman's 3rd International Language League". This year, participants will compete at different levels to prove their English, Bangla, Chinese, German, and French efficiency.

Aim of 3rd International Language League

This competition aims to encourage and improve their language learning process and focus on different areas of language. This event also aims at exploring their creative potential in language.

Participation

Process of Participation for Bangladeshi Students

Stage 1:

Participants will complete the Registration form on the website.


Stage 2:

Participants will join the Divisional Selection Round in-person at the selected venues. The names of the venues will be announced on the website and the Facebook page of Language League five days before the competition.


Stage 3:

The participants will join the Semi-Final Round in Dhaka at the selected venues if selected in the Divisional Selection Round. Results will be published on the website and Facebook page of Language League.


Stage 4:

Selected participants from the Semi-Final Round will join the Final Round in-person at North South University in Dhaka. Names of the winners will be announced on the website and Facebook page of the Language League after the Final Round.

Participation

Process of Participation for International Students

Stage 1:

Participants will complete the Registration form on the website. After the successful registration, participants will be notified via email.


Stage 2:

Participants will join the designated Google Classroom for the Selection Round ONLINE. The link to Google Meet/ Zoom for competition will be posted on the Google Classroom before the competition.


Stage 3:

Selected participants will join the Final Round ONLINE. Names of the winners will be announced on the website and Facebook page of the Language League after the Final Round.

Chinese

German

  • People between the ages of 20 and 27 can apply
  • Participants who learn German language as a foreign language are eligible to register. German native speakers are not allowed.
  • The first 25 registration for the German A2 Level will be considered for the first round
  • The first 25 registration for the German B1 Level will be considered for the first round
  • Please apply either in A2 Level or in B1 Level.
  • Students selected from the first round will perform with others (one group consists of 3 persons) in the final round.
  • Students will perform on a digital platform via ZOOM.

French

  • In first phase the participants will submit a 3-4 minutes video about themselves recorded by telephone. The second phase will be a debate in a given theme.
